Oxymetholone, more commonly known as anadrolone or the A-bomb among Western athletes, which is very illustrative. In the former CIS it is called anapolon. Anadrolone was first developed in the 1960s by the pharmaceutical company Syntex. Its original purpose was to treat various diseases as a medicine. However, there came a time when anadrolone began to do more harm than good, and safer products were developed to treat these conditions.
Oxymetholone is a derivative of dehydrotestosterone (DHT) and therefore cannot be converted to oestrogen. However, unlike other DHT steroids, anadrolone can increase muscle mass due to slight changes in its chemical structure. This substance has no progestin effect, so in theory estrogenic side effects should be avoided. It also does not have a high affinity for androgens.
Like Anavar, Anadrol is indicated for the promotion of growth, osteoporosis and wasting syndromes in children of various origins. Because oxymetholone can significantly increase red blood cell counts, it has been one of the main agents in the treatment of severe anaemia. Anadrolone was used to treat these conditions until doctors discovered that its side effects sometimes caused more harm than the disease itself.
Today, many would think it crazy to treat children with androgen preparations using anabolic steroids (AAS), but at the time there were few alternatives and probably not everyone was aware of the side effects of oxymetholone.
Use in bodybuilders
From a sporting point of view, for those who want to increase muscle mass very quickly and concretely, the positive effects of anadrolone more than outweigh its side effects. “Anapolon is three times more anabolic than testosterone” or “Compared to Dianabol, Anadrol increases muscle mass twice”. For most anabolic steroids, such comparisons are meaningless because the effects of steroids cannot be measured objectively, and any assessment is purely subjective. In the case of oxymetholone, however, no comparison would be far-fetched – it is certainly more potent than any other.
Anadrol is the most potent of all anabolic steroids available today. If you want big and juicy mass, Anadrolon should be your first choice. Unlike most dehydrotestosterone derivatives, oxymetholone does not provide relief and muscle mass. It offers extreme bulk and extreme strength.
Since Anadrol requires special precautions to avoid side effects, it is recommended for use by more experienced athletes. In addition, you need to know how to deal with incredibly fast and massive muscle growth. One of the potential problems is severe damage to connective tissue. Although Anadrol causes rapid muscle growth, it does not strengthen ligaments. Ligaments need more time to adapt to the increased load caused by muscles lifting much more weight than normal. Although swelling can be partially reduced by increasing lubrication of the ligaments, special attention must be paid to this issue.
As mentioned in the introduction, in addition to the extraordinary muscle growth, Anadrol produces significant side effects that quickly become apparent. Estrogen disruption is one of the most significant side effects of oxymetholone, as its origin remains a mystery to the scientific community, and should be of great concern to those who are particularly sensitive to estrogens.
Anapolone does not convert to oestrogen and has no progesterone activity. What causes estrogen side effects such as swelling, facial swelling and gynecomastia? Some studies show that oxymetholone itself can bind to the oestrogen receptor without changing its structure, and this causes oestrogenic symptoms. However, these claims have not yet been confirmed, so this is not a firm conclusion. As Anadrol is not flavoured, the use of estrogen inhibitors is not reasonable. Instead, the use of selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs), such as tomsiphen, is recommended when using anaprolone to control the estrogen effects described above.
Hepatotoxicity is probably the main side effect of oxandrolone. It is a 17-alpha-alkylated oral steroid which is also used in very high doses. Therefore, the liver suffers from the onset of treatment, and to relieve this organ, a high intake of liver-protective drugs such as N2Guard is recommended.
Liver toxicity and estrogen side effects are just the beginning. Since Anadrol has significant androgenic activity, acne is one of the most common androgenic side effects. Sometimes it is so severe that it must be treated with medication to keep it under control. Those who are prone to baldness should think twice before using Anapolon. All this means that the use of Anadrolone is very risky for women as the symptoms of masculinization can be very severe and irreversible.
According to various sources, the half-life of Anadrol ranges from 9 to 15 hours. Although some athletes take it once a day, better results are usually obtained when it is divided into two times a day (morning and evening), probably because blood concentrations of oxymetholone are more stable when it is divided.
As mentioned earlier, Anadrol is an amazing weight gain steroid and is used accordingly in weight gain phases. If you are looking for some more sculpted muscles, Winstrol or Anavar are the best steroids to combine with ANADROL – with them you can build stronger muscles with less side effects. But at the same time, they can’t give you such radical progress in a very short time.
Oxymetholone is only available in 50 mg tablets (hence one of its popular names is A-50), and dosages range from 1-3 tablets per day (50-150 mg). Most bodybuilders require only 50 mg (i.e., one tablet) per day to achieve excellent results. Therefore, daily doses of more than 100 mg are somewhat excessive.
Anadrol is by far the most powerful anabolic steroid available today, and is therefore very popular with athletes who want to achieve extreme strength and mass. The swelling makes the athlete look very chubby and massive. At the same time, it also causes numerous side effects that require very careful selection of other drugs and well-planned aftercare.
Side effects of Anadrol include swelling, facial edema, hypertension, androgenic activity, and severe hepatotoxicity. It is a very potent AAS that requires experience and good planning to achieve good and lasting results.
